FEED THE PIGS
Brand New, Old School, Gritty, Grimy, In Your Face Raunch and Roll Made With Tube Amps and Les Pauls.
FEED THE PIGS is a Rock and Roll band - Nothing more, nothing less. We don't wear eyeliner, skinny jeans or women's blouses. Our men look like men, and our girl looks like a girl. We play Rock n' Roll for people that don't need flashy, formulaic, made for radio type of music that's sold with strawberry flavored bubble gum. We make music for people that ride motorcycles, drive trucks, love classic cars and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. This is Rock and Roll for the people that go to work, not the club - for guys that have beer guts and heavy calloused hands that are washed with Gojo and a shop rag, not guys that shave their chests and shower in Axe body spray. We're regular guys that make music for regular people. We wear jeans and t-shirts and make music that doesn't care about styles described as "nu" or "...core." We may sound like something you've heard before, but we don't care. We're just playing some good old fashioned, American type gritty Rock and Roll that makes you feel good.
In a World Where Pigs Reign
2/28/16 - The CD is now available in limited numbers! Our first run of 50 is nearly sold out. We sold CD's in a partnership with Far From Here and raffled off a guitar for Tommy Dow's benefit at Cherry Street Station. We raised more than $500 for Tommy in sales alone. The entire night brought a great amount of much needed help. We continue to keep Tommy in our thoughts and prayers as he works toward recovery.
Cherry Street Rocks!!
Cherry Street Station has always been a very special place to the Pigs. Not only because venues like it are fading, but because the people are among the example of everything that makes being a part of the CT music scene so great. What I love about it is that there is no demand for a specific style of band or unreasonable demand on attendance.
We play there on bills that are not exactly Rock n Roll bills. We've played with hardcore, metal and punk bands and we've been welcomed every time. If the measure of success for a band is not the number of people that are there when you begin playing, but the number that are there when you end playing, then Cherry Street succeeded in building a regular crowd of extremely talented people that supports music.
The 2nd Hardest Working Man in Rock n' Roll
Gerry Forte is kind of a big deal. He not only holds down Pig groove with the loudest Marshall/Les Paul combination in Connecticut, but he also holds down the low end for CT's Hardcore band Blastmat, and Boston's Bad Luitenents. These are both kick-ass bands that are not recommended for people with heart conditions. If you find yourself near a bar or club that's shaking off its foundation, stop by and see Gerry play.
The Actual Hardest Working Man in Rock n' Roll
Gerry isn't the only Pig with other things going on. Tony is playing with some very talented members of Mind Over Master, Insano Vision and Gasoline Therapy in a stoner metal project called Damn the Mountain...or Ditch Wizard... or something. But it's Tommy Dow that takes the prize for hardest working man in Rock n Roll. Can you say, "Crossroads" or "Evil Eyes" or "Angery Again" or even the super awesome "Far From Here?" Tommy plays in so many bands that he sometimes finds it hard to schedule time to let his ears stop ringing. This man practices and gigs almost every night of the week. Now that's dedication!
